Mary Burrill's Pineapple Cherry Bread



Sis is a great devotee of War cake, we all love it. On her recipe card, it says:"My favorite after war cake".


Cream:

2 Tablespoons of butter
1/2 cup sugar

Add and beat well:

1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla

Sift together:

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

Add the dry ingredients alternating with:

1 1/2 cups undrained pineapple by thirds

When all is mixed together, Add:

1/2 cup Maraschino Cherries

Pour into greased and floured loaf pan and bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees F.
